In this easy roasted sweet potato side dish, coconut oil deepens the natural caramelized flavor of roasted sweet potatoes, and it adds a delicate subtle coconut flavor. Brown sugar and nutmeg sweeten the dish.
It is 3pm and if you are like many of us, you’re struggling to stay awake at your desk. Fueling your body with healthy food, specifically items high in protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates is a better solution than coffee.
1 pound thawed ground beef, lean ground turkey or bison, veal or your favorite meat.
2 Tbs finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic minced
1 Carrington Farms Flax Chia Pak 2 Tbs water
3/4 cup soft bread crumbs (1 slice of bread)
1 beaten egg
1 Tbs mustard
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1. Mix together meat, onion, garlic, flax and bread crumbs.
2. Lightly beat water and egg together and add to mixture. Add mustard, salt and pepper.
3. Cook on a grill or stove top until no pink remains (~12 mins). Tip: Use Carrington Farms Coconut Oil Cooking Spray on the Grill.
4. Optional cheeseburgers: top with slice of your choice of cheese at end of cooking and grill or broil for about 1 min.
5. Makes 4 -3/4 inch thick patties or 6 -1/2 inch thick patties.
